WEIGHT I CAN GAIN JUST BY LOOKING AT THEM...

I hesitate to share this link, as I might be enabling all sorts of unhealthy eating habits by disseminating this information. Blame the Urban Achiever, for tempting me with information on where to get Marzipan rugelach in the US.

Going to the website, I learn that each rugelach (which is apparently plural as well as singular) contains almost a whole bar of chocolate. (That is CRAZY.) I shall not suffer the temptation of this tree of knowledge alone.

First things first, let's get the typo alert out of the way:

The Kosherfest press release reads:
Jerusalem Gourmet Rugalach Awarded Best New Desert Item by Kosherfest

(This could not be confirmed, but rumor has it that other "new desert items" included gummy cactus pie, new Mirage bottled water that tastes like whatever candy you want it to, and the world famous Arabian Sands cupcakes.)

At first, I was happy to see there were no Upper West Side distributors. Then I noticed the listing for Revaya, the cafe that's literally an around-the-corner, two-minute walk from one of the places where I do on-site work thrice weekly...and they are taking orders online. (It's pricey, though: $9.95 for twelve rugelach.)

Still no nutritional information, though. (I'm assuming that means they're fat-free, meet all the US RDA of valuable nutrients and are a good source of protein, iron and fiber.)

There. Now you must all be keepers of the knowledge. Use it wisely.

Rugelach is definitely the plural form. The singular is "Rugalah". Too bad nobody seems to know that anymore.
