BUFFYWORLD SMACKDOWN: CORDY VS. BUFFY

CORDY "THE GLOWY HIGHER POWER" CHASE

VS.

BUFFY "THE SLAYER FROM SUNNYDALE" SUMMERS

Apparently, Joss Whedon's been tapped to write the new Wonder Woman movie, and two of his former stars, Charisma Carpenter and Sarah Michelle Gellar, are battling it out to land the eponymous role. One's a former cheerleader who had visions, and became a higher power and eventually a demon, and the other's the Slayer, the Chosen One, and catalyst for Angel's reversion to Angelus. Odds, anyone?

Plus, the new issue of Slayage: The Online International Journal of Buffy Studies is now online. Enjoy. And don't forget to save the world. A lot.

I don't know odds, but in terms of looks, Charisma Carpenter's got the edge. SMG is just such a short slip of a girl.

I'm rooting for Cordy, but only b/c I've been told that I vaguely resemble her and I've always wanted to be Wonder Woman.

Joss has a habit of casting the people who audition for him in other roles (it seems that almost every woman in her 20s who was on Buffy at some point or another auditioned for the title role) so who knows, they might BOTH get a part.

Too bad I never auditioned for Joss. My vote's with Charisma, too. SMG's overdone and tiny. Charisma's more substantial, and due for her shot.

If we're going with an actress in her 30's, I'd say Monica Belucci would be perfect. SMG - No way. Maybe if they cast Wonder Girl...
