CALL ME MADONNA

Madonna says, "Call me Esther."

I say, "Call me Madonna."

So tedious to have my name be the focus of so much media attention, and yet not be the beneficiary of that attention. Must contact my agent and identify ways to benefit from this media onslaught as Madonna tries to encroach on my life.

too funny! she's now wearing a red string around her waist that's a symbol of jewish mysticism. maybe that means you should now wear that poofy material girl dress.

I can see the headline: "Prominent NYC Blogger Uninvites Material Girl to Shabbos Dinner, Citing Stalker Activity." A shaken Esther Kustanowitz explained, 'First she takes my religion, now she's taking my name. It was cute, even flattering, in the beginning, but it's gotten out of hand.'

Around her *waist*? Isn't that a bit...showy? Most wear it around their wrist. Is it a real one that someone actually took and wrapped around Kever Rochel, or something Feivel Gruberger pulled out of Karen's sewing box?

thanbo

I'm a little late on this (just got to your blog via stevesilver), but I actually sort of met Esther a few days after the official name change and her name played a big part in our meeting. http://toole.blogspot.com/2004/06/not-to-turn-this-into-celebrity.html
