SHOCK AND AWE: PRETTY PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS

For years, I've refused to see any movie whose plot is "Jennifer Aniston cannot find a date." (Also subject to a modification of this rule: movies whose plots are "Julia Roberts cannot find a date.") These situations just are not plausible. And what consolation could I, a single non-Aniston if ever there were one, glean from the lesson that even with great hair, the perfect perma-tan, famous "Friends" (like my imagined former-paramour Matthew Perry), and totally awesome abs, it can be hard to find, and/or keep your man?

Poor Brad and Jen. Pretty people apparently have problems too.

    I agree, girl. Add Sandra Bullock to the list. Isn't she always dateless? That movie theme is sooo old? All the pretty girls never have dates. Puh-lease. Who else, Miss Trivia Queen? Hmmm, Meg Ryan, Kate Hudson, (as much as it pains me to say) N Portman in G State, yada yada yada...

    It's too bad, almost as depressing as when Tom and Nicole split up...or are they back together? I've never been good at staying on top of celebrity gossip.

    Brad's problem is that he can't find a woman as pretty as he is.

    I really thought Brennifer would make it. And I think Brennifer is an AWESOME moniker? Why didn't that ever take off?

    But seriously, where do they go from here? For either one of them, it's a step down ...

    re: Natalie Portman in Garden State comment
    1) The plot of that movie had nothing to do with Natalie Portman not being able to get a date. In the movie, she is available, that's all.
    2) I would not be shocked to find out that people are wary to date people who have a major medical problem, including epilepsy (as Portman's character in GS has).
    But besides that, I would include her in the catagory.

    1)Yes PG. I know GS was not about Sam's dating, but my point was that here she was, Miss Beautiful and she had no boyfriend and yes, was available. Not realistic.
    2) She did a good job of hiding/lying about the epilepsy. I guess it could be possible the guy might not know about it. I'd be cool with it, fer sher.
